Admission requirements

  • A German or foreign university degree with a final grade of 2.5 (minimum).
  • It is possible to improve your grade by 0.2 twice through relevant internships, lectures, and other activities. You can use? this form to apply.

Application

Important: You can only apply once you have completed your bachelor’s degree and handed in your bachelor’s thesis.

First, you need to apply online through the Registrar’s Office at the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Augsburg where you will receive an admission request (Antrag auf Zulassung).

After receiving the admission request, you need to apply to the environmental ethics degree programme coordinator, Laura Bondl.

The following documentation is required for the application:

  • A filled out and signed admission request (Antrag auf Zulassung) from the Registrar’s Office
  • Letter of motivation (approx. 1 page)
  • CV (max. 2 pages)
  • Degree certificate in either German or English (for international applicants). If the bachelor’s degree certificate is not available, confirmation of your average grade as well as confirmation that you have completed your bachelor’s degree (see below).
  • Transcript of Records
  • For international applicants: Evidence of having successfully completed a German language exam (level C1)

Please send these documents in one PDF file exclusively to bewerbungen.umweltethik@kthf.uni-augsburg.de.

Please take note of the following:

  • Please do not forget to cross which documents you are submitting on the second page of the admission request (Antrag auf Zulassung).
  • A separate covering letter is not necessary. The documents should be sent via email as an attachment.
  • Order of documentation in the attachment:
    1. Admission request (pages 1 and 2)
    2. Letter of motivation
    3. CV
    4. Bachelor’s degree certificate
    5. Bachelor’s degree diploma
      If the bachelor’s degree certificate and diploma are not available:
      • An official confirmation from the university of your average grade.
      • Confirmation that you have completed your bachelor’s degree. Please use this form.
    6. Transcript of Records
    7. For international applicants: Evidence of having successfully completed a German language exam (level C1)

    8. Miscellaneous (only if required):

      • Request for grade improvement ( Antrag zur Notenverbesserung) if the final grade of your bachelor’s degree is less than 2.5 and an internship or evidence of other work or activities is required.
  • The file should be titled: Application_EnvEth_Surname, Name(s)_Application number.pdf
  • We do not need any evidence of degree programmes you have not completed. You only need to provide evidence of having completed your bachelor’s degree.

Application deadlines

The application deadline for the winter semester is the 1st of September each year.

The application deadline for the summer semester is the 1st of March each year.

We ask that you submit your application documents in a timely manner.

If you do not expect to receive your bachelor’s degree certificate by the application deadline because, for example, your bachelor’s thesis has not yet been assessed, you may still apply (provided that you have already submitted your bachelor’s thesis). Please refer to the information above regarding the application documents to be submitted if your bachelor’s degree certificate and bachelor’s diploma are not yet available.

Introduction to the degree programme

An introduction to the degree programme is offered at the start of every semester. The introduction typically takes place in the two weeks before the start of the lecture period. The exact dates are provided on this webpage in the “News” section. Please also note:
